St. Peter Lutheran Church and School (SPLCS), is hosting the second annual “Rock the Plank”, outdoor concert on our campus, Saturday August 4, 2018.  This year we are introducing an arts and crafts show, and are anticipating 2000 - 3000 people that will stroll through the vendor tents and enjoy the music.  Our performers are local musician Jalen Seawright and our feature artist from Westland Michigan, country singer Josh Gracin, who was in the top 4 of season 2 of “American Idol”.

St. Peter Lutheran Church and School is a non-profit 501(c)(3), Christ centered Church and Elementary school.  The mission of “Rock the Plank” is to bring awareness and funding for two wonderful local foundations and we rely on the sponsors to help support this.

New Day FoundationNew Day Foundation for Families is a Rochester, Michigan-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2007 by Michael and Gina Spehn in the aftermath of losing their first spouses to cancer.

New Day Foundation’s mission is to have a positive impact on treatment outcomes and survivorship by reducing the catastrophic effects of financial toxicity caused by a cancer diagnosis.

They serve families who have a family member in active treatment for a cancer diagnosis (adult or pediatric), and who also have children under the age of 18 living in the home.

They accomplish their mission by offering financial assistance and emotional support.  For more information please visit

The ChadTough Foundation - The ChadTough Foundation is a Saline, Michigan 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2015 by Jason and Tammi Carr as a way to honor the legacy of their five-year-old son, Chad, who lost his battle to the deadliest form of pediatric brain cancer, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) after a 14-month fight.

The ChadTough Foundation’s mission is to fund research and raise awareness for pediatric brain cancer with an emphasis on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

They only work with researchers and other foundations committed to collaboration to ensure every dollar is used as effectively and efficiently as possible.

They fund research focused on understanding and treating DIPG, knowing that studying one of the most complex forms of pediatric brain cancer will unlock breakthroughs that can help treat all pediatric brain cancer, the leading cause of death by disease for children.  For more information, visit
